This is what I'm hearing this morning. I hope this comes across as the encouragement it's meant to be. I will always want the very best for you.
Many times, the Lord's ideas about what's good for you aren't the same as your ideas about what's good for you.
Let me repeat that: Many times, the Lord's ideas about what's good for you aren't the same as your ideas about what's good for you.
He knows the ins and outs of our journey in ways that we don’t. He ALWAYS has our best in mind.
There's going to be a lot of overlap between His ideas about what's good for you and your ideas about what's good for you, but it's only partial. That's true for all of us. So what are we going to do?
Trust Him! Trust His heart! That's the only path that makes sense.
He knows what He's doing. And so Scripture tells us to put EVERYTHING on the
altar before Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12).
I may not understand or be comfortable with all that He's up to in the near
term, but I also know that whatever He wants is what I must have, whether I
understand it or am comfortable with it in the here and now. He cares deeply
about my here and now but cares even more deeply about the long-term.
The more
my mind is renewed to understand and accept this, at least a little, and the
more I'm able to wrap my heart around this concept, the better and easier life
becomes. I've learned that I can trust His heart.
The Lord's hopes and plans for you are for now through eternity. They are far
more important and detailed than your hopes and plans for you.
He is for you, not against you. Ask Him to help your heart make the right
choices.
Romans
12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable
service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will
of God.
