God is the only creator, there is no other. He made it
all, whatever it is and wherever it is, both the animate and the inanimate. If it exists, He
made it. If it exists, He owns it. Since He made it and owns it, He gets to do what He wants
with it, He gets to determine its purpose and reason for being. And that includes the purpose and reason for being of you and me.
He is all knowing, all powerful, and ever present. He always has been and always will be. In a Bible analogy, He alone is the Potter. Everything and everyone is His clay. That means He sets the rules and answers to no one but Himself.
No matter what you think about Him, His ways, His actions, His reasons and intentions, He gets to do things His way, when He wants and how He wants. He doesn't exist for us; we exist for Him.
Most people, Christians included, have a human-centric view of God. That's not a correct picture, so I'll say it again: He doesn't exist for us; we exist for Him.
He gets to make Himself happy with what He has made and He gets to remove, discard, or do away with what makes Him unhappy. That said, He wants to be happy with you and He wants you in eternity with Him. If you are willing, He will fully transform what in you is completely incompatible with Him. He will transform your very essence into a life that is fully compatible with Himself.
He is always true to Himself. His nature and character and His very essence are thoroughly unchangeable. He is never wrong, never unfair, never unjust. He is never NOT sovereign. Let me share these verses from Matthew 13:25-30 and 36-43, often referred to as The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares:
Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’
“‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
“‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”
Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”
He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.
They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear."
This present reality is not permanent. It's temporary. This present reality has an expiration date that only God knows.
In this present and temporary reality, He gives you freedom of choice: freedom to accept or reject Him, freedom to love Him or hate Him, even freedom to deny He exists or has any right to judge you. Yes, He gives you freedom of choice, but He does not give you freedom from the consequences of those choices.
No one gets away with anything, not in the long run. You will be judged. You will be held accountable. No one pulls a fast one on God. Rant and rave and yell from the rooftops all you want. Shake your fist at heaven and stomp your feet all you want. It won't change anything I've said here.
Without Jesus and totally on our own, Humanity has a
hopelessly broken relationship with our Creator. On our own, we are hopelessly
contaminated beyond our ability to truly self-repair. You cannot transform and replace the corrupted essence of your fallen nature that separates you from God. Only God Himself can do that.
Only God Himself
can bring us back into right relationship with Himself. He does that through Jesus.
No one will ever be able to stand in front of God and say "You weren't fair!" There's only one concept of fairness, of right and wrong, and of judgement that will hold true, and that's God's. He will take that which pleases Him into eternity with Himself. What displeases Him will be removed and banished.
There's only one way out. God will take into account whether your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life (Revelation 21:27). If your name is in there, it will mean that everything of which you are guilty has already been fully paid for by Jesus' sacrifice.
If it's in there, it will mean that your debt has been fully paid. If it's in there, it will mean that the transformation of your very essence from total corruption to 100% pure has been guaranteed by Him. For eternity, you will be fully compatible with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
At the judgement, permanent reality will settle in. Have it your way:
Life to more Life, or
Death to more Death.
Your choice.
