In this Bonus Episode, I'm sharing a Holy Spirit encounter that rolled over me in the early morning hours of August 4, 2024. The Holy Spirit is urging me to share this as a call for prayer.
First, let me set this up with some background.
- A key part of Israel's air defense system is called the "Iron Dome". Its defensive missiles intercept rockets, drones and artillery shells aimed by Israel's enemies at populated areas in Israel.
- The Hebrew word "Shalom" is often translated “Peace”. That's a good start, but "Shalom" actually has a much broader meaning. It includes God's Kingdom order, the outpouring of His salvation and Spirit, His provision, blessing, protection and goodness. God's shalom is the opposite of the chaos, disorder, wickedness and destruction inherent in the realm of darkness.
I'm seeing Israel's Iron Dome as an earthly metaphor for God's spirit-realm covering. That inspired the name "Shalom Dome".
On August 4th, 2024, I distinctly felt the Lord's heavy hand
pressing down, imposing His Kingdom protection that limits evil for now. I also felt the urgent need for that protection to be reinforced by our prayers.
I'm still
trying to find better words for what I'm sensing. My words seem so
inadequate. But here's the main point: His hand is forcefully holding the spirit-realm Shalom Dome in place and our prayers play a part.
Philippians 4:6 and 7 in the Complete Jewish Bible says
Don’t worry about anything; on the contrary, make your requests known to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then God’s shalom, passing all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with the Messiah Yeshua.
God's Shalom Dome is restraining the evil attack of Satan's fallen angels. Century after century, those evil beings have been obsessed with destruction and hatred for Israel, the Jews, and anyone who aids them. Even now, those evil spirit beings are trying to stop America from supporting Israel.
I'm also clearly sensing that the Shalom Dome is made more effective by our prayers for righteousness in this earthly realm. Those prayers must continue.
One quick side note.
On the human side of this issue and for the first time in history, battles are raging in the cyber world. So I'm also praying heavily into the hidden cyber warfare being waged against those who want to destroy Israel and the U.S. Even in the cyber world, the Lord's intervention is deeply needed.
Working through the Holy Spirit and God's warrior angels,
the Lord's covering is already in place, but the spiritual warfare of good against evil is still raging. The burden to continue
praying remains. That's why I'm asking you to accept God's call to intercede on
the behalf of righteousness and Kingdom order.
In
my spirit, I'm heavily pressed to pray into the Lord's forceful covering over family, local, national, and
international situations. The need to reinforce and expand God's Shalom Dome protection keeps pressing on
my heart.
God responds to our prayers. I don't fully understand
how or why it works this way, but it's clear in my spirit that our prayers and
intercession add to the Shalom Dome's effectiveness (James 5:15-17).
Here's some more Scripture that goes with what I'm saying:
Psalm 46:9-11 NIV
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
In Ephesians 6:12, the Amplified Bible says
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.
I'm sensing great conflict in the spiritual realm. Just as described in Daniel 10, God's warrior angels are at this moment dealing with the demonic fallen angels. Our earthly intercession, calling for the Lord's righteousness and rescue in this physical realm, must continue.
As you pray, here's something else to consider. At times, I've heard Christians speak to angels as though they could order them around. There's no Scriptural basis for that. Angels work for God on our behalf, but that doesn't make us their bosses.
We don't pray to or command the holy angels. However, I believe that they are encouraged and refreshed through our prayers to God. Our prayers for Kingdom order and righteousness are having an effect on the spirit realm battle that the holy angels are waging as they carry out Jesus' assignment to help us.
Again, I see no indication in Scripture that the Lord's angels ever take orders from Believers. We pray for righteous outcomes, but we don't command the holy angels.
They work for God and answer to God. He has assigned them to provide
service on behalf of Believers. They are stewards of God’s providence towards
us. Hebrews 1:14 tells us that holy angels are "ministering spirits sent to serve
those who will inherit salvation.” But they take orders from God, not people.
Our part in the Lord's Shalom Dome is to pray, speak, and
declare Kingdom order, protection, and a massive harvest of otherwise lost souls across the earth. In some way I don't fully understand, that aids the holy angels as they perform their God-given assignments.
It's true that several Psalms encourage the Angels to worship, sing, and praise God. But since the holy angels already worship, sing, and praise God, it's clear to me that the Psalmist is simply cheering the angels on without giving them orders.
God is covering us under His Shalom Dome, imposing Kingdom order and protecting us from spiritual chaos as long as we stay under the shadow of His wings. The satanic army's evil attacks foreshadow the coming antichrist, but that man of evil won't be fully revealed until the Shalom Dome's restraining power is removed from the earth.
2 Thessalonians 2:6-12, in the J.B. Phillips New Testament, says
I expect you remember now how I talked about this when I was with you. You will probably also remember how I used to talk about a “restraining power” which would operate until the time should come for the emergence of this man. Evil is already insidiously at work but its activities are restricted until what I have called the “restraining power” (of God) is removed. When that happens, the lawless man will be plainly seen.
The lawless man mentioned here is the antichrist.
It's clear to me that the “restraining power” Paul mentions is the Holy Spirit working through the holy angels and Jesus' true Believers on earth. Until the Rapture, the restraining power is preventing the realm of darkness from prematurely bringing on the brief rule of the Anti-Christ.
Righteousness and Kingdom order on earth is what I'm praying about. The call is for more Believers to do the same without growing weary. The more we pray into righteousness, the more effective the Shalom Dome will be. That's a very clear part of what the Holy Spirit is sharing with me.
